In short

DatDrop has been opening cases since 2017, and it looks the part: the interface is clean and works well on a phone. Beyond that, there isn't much to recommend it. You get cases, case battles and an upgrader, a 5% bonus on deposits, and fewer crypto options on the way out than on the way in. Trust, payouts and games all scored 5.0, support 4.5. It shares our lowest rating, 2.5, because nearly everything it does, another case site does better.

Full review

While reviewing DatDrop, we kept trying to name one thing it does better than Hellcase, Key-Drop or Hunt.gg.

We never found one. DatDrop isn't a bad site. It's been running since 2017, the case openings are provably fair, and the interface is one of the cleaner ones in this market. But it's a case site with two side modes, a small bonus and a weak cashout menu, competing against case sites that do all of that better. That's why it sits at 2.5, joint-lowest in our rankings with Insane.gg.

A clean case site with very little on top

First impressions are good. The layout is tidy, case pages are easy to read, and the site works properly on a phone without the cramped menus some rivals still have. If you judged DatDrop on the first five minutes, you'd rate it higher than we do.

The longer you stay, the thinner it gets. There are three modes: cases, case battles and an upgrader. No crash, no roulette, no plinko or mines. Rewards for regular players aren't much of a draw either. Game variety scored 5.0, and the problem isn't that three modes is unworkable (Hunt.gg runs three and scores 4.0), it's that DatDrop doesn't do anything extra with them.

The 5% on every deposit, in real dollars

DatDrop's offer is different from most. Instead of a one-off welcome deal, code CSGOCORN adds 5% to your deposits. Here's what that looks like:

DepositBonus at 5%Balance
$10$0.50$10.50
$50$2.50$52.50
$100$5.00$105.00

Small. A single $50 deposit earns less than the cheapest case on many sites. The argument for it is that it keeps going: someone who deposits regularly collects 5% every time, while a one-off welcome bonus is spent once. Even then, the sums stay modest. Four $25 deposits over a month add up to $5 in bonus. The argument against is that frequent deposits on a case site are exactly the habit you shouldn't be building for a 5% top-up. Bonus value scored 4.5.

For comparison, Key-Drop gives $0.50 plus a 20% deposit bonus, Hellcase gives three cases plus 10%, and Hunt.gg gives six free cases. If you're choosing a case site based on its offer, DatDrop loses to all three.

Claiming it takes a minute. Open DatDrop through our link, sign in with Steam (check that the login page is on steamcommunity.com), and enter CSGOCORN in the promo field if it isn't applied already. Then deposit as normal; the minimum is $5. Look at the bonus terms in the cashier for any wagering on the extra 5%. Our article on wagering requirements explains what to check.

What you're actually buying when you open a case

DatDrop's cases aren't Valve's. That sounds obvious, but a lot of players carry Valve's official odds in their heads when they open a site-made case, and those numbers don't apply. For reference, here's what Valve publishes for official CS2 cases:

RarityOfficial odds
Mil-Spec (blue)79.92%
Restricted (purple)15.98%
Classified (pink)3.20%
Covert (red)0.64%
Knife or gloves0.26%

A DatDrop case is a box the site fills with items it chooses, at chances it sets. Sometimes the expensive item has a better chance than 0.26%, sometimes far worse. What's always true is that the average value of the contents is below the case price. That margin is how the site makes money, and it's the same on every case site. Our explainer on CS2 case odds shows how to estimate expected value from an item list.

Watch the wear on the items, too. A skin's price depends heavily on its float: Factory New is 0.00–0.07, Minimal Wear 0.07–0.15, Field-Tested 0.15–0.38, Well-Worn 0.38–0.45 and Battle-Scarred 0.45–1.00. A case that advertises a famous skin may be stocking its cheapest Battle-Scarred version. Check the exterior listed next to each item.

Battles and the upgrader

Case battles are the standard format: several players open the same cases, the highest total value takes the lot. It works, and the clean interface makes it easy to follow. Battles depend on other players turning up, though, and a smaller site means fewer games to join.

Watch the real cost of a battle, too. The price shown per case isn't the price per round: a battle with four $5 cases costs you $20 to enter, and it's easy to play several in a row before that sinks in. Our case battles guide covers the formats and the math.

The upgrader lets you stake an item for a chance at a pricier one. Odds are shown up front, and they follow the usual pattern: double the value and your chance sits a little under 50%. It's a fine way to turn a few cheap drops into one skin, as long as you accept that every attempt carries the house edge.

Cashing out: skins first, crypto with caveats

Deposits are flexible: ten cryptocurrencies, cards, gift cards and CS2 skins. Withdrawals are where DatDrop falls short. You can take skins or crypto, but the crypto options on the withdrawal side are more limited than on the deposit side. Before you deposit in a particular coin, check that you can withdraw in it. If you can't, you'll be converting at the exit, and that's a cost you didn't plan for.

Skin withdrawals go out as Steam trades. Anything you receive carries CS2's 7-day trade cooldown, so you can't sell or trade it on straight away, and you'll want Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator active to avoid extra holds. Skin deposits are slower too, because Valve's Trade Protection (in place since mid-2025) lets the original owner reverse a trade for seven days, and sites have to account for that before crediting you fully.

Payout speed scored 5.0. Withdrawals do go through. They're just not as quick or as flexible as on the sites ranked above it.

How to check a DatDrop opening yourself

  1. Before opening, note the hashed server seed the site shows you. It's a fingerprint of the real seed, published in advance so it can't be changed later.
  2. Set your own client seed if you want to. That way the result depends on input the site doesn't control.
  3. Open your cases. Each one uses the seeds plus a nonce that counts up by one per opening.
  4. Rotate the server seed. DatDrop reveals the old one.
  5. Hash the revealed seed and confirm it matches the hash you noted. Then run the seeds and nonce through a verifier to reproduce each result.

If everything matches, the openings weren't altered after the fact. Our provably fair guide goes through the process in more detail. Remember what it doesn't prove, though: that the odds were good. A case can be perfectly fair and still be bad value.

Support, and why it scored 4.5

Support is DatDrop's weakest category, tied with bonus value. Basic questions get answered. The concern is the harder stuff, such as a withdrawal that stalls or a deposit that doesn't credit, and on a site with a 5.0 trust score that's exactly when you want a quick, clear response.

Our usual advice applies. Keep balances small, make one small withdrawal early so you've seen the process work, and keep screenshots of any deposit or trade you might need to dispute. Never deal with anyone claiming to be DatDrop support through Steam chat or Discord DMs; impersonators are common on case sites. If a trade offer looks off, read our guide to the Steam API key scam before accepting anything.

Why it ends up last

Look at the full breakdown and the picture is consistent: trust 5.0, games 5.0, payouts 5.0, user experience 5.0, bonus 4.5, support 4.5. No single score is a disaster. None of them is good, either.

The user experience number may look harsh given how clean the site is. A tidy layout is part of it, but we score the whole experience over weeks, not minutes: what there is to do, what you get for staying, how easy it is to get your money out in the form you want. On those points DatDrop is ordinary at best, and the withdrawal limits pull it down.

Put simply, it's a site you wouldn't regret trying with a small deposit and wouldn't miss if it disappeared. In a market where several case sites give you more of everything, that lands at the bottom of our table.

Where to open cases instead

Hunt.gg is the clearest alternative: also three modes, but six free cases for new players, a far wider deposit menu, a stronger loyalty system and a 4.0 score. Key-Drop adds a jackpot mode and a much bigger deposit bonus. And Hellcase, if you want PayPal or bank transfer for deposits.

DatDrop is restricted in the US and UK and strictly for adults 18+. Opening cases one after another is how small budgets disappear, so set a limit before you start and stop when you hit it. If that's getting harder to do, our responsible gambling page lists people and tools that can help.

2.5Mixed

Our verdict

DatDrop suits players who only want to open cases, like its clean layout, and will deposit often enough for a 5% top-up to add up. Skip it if you want more than three game modes, a strong welcome offer or a wide choice of crypto for withdrawals. For case opening specifically, Hunt.gg and Key-Drop both score higher with us and give new players far more to start with.

DatDrop FAQ

Is DatDrop legit?

DatDrop has run since 2017 and its case openings are provably fair, so it's a real site. Its trust and support scores are among the lowest we give, so we'd keep deposits small.

What is the DatDrop promo code?

Use CSGOCORN, or sign up through our link. It adds 5% on top of your deposits, so a $100 deposit becomes $105 in balance.

What withdrawal options does DatDrop have?

You can withdraw CS2 skins or crypto, but fewer coins are available for withdrawals than for deposits. Check the withdrawal page before depositing in a particular coin.

Does DatDrop require KYC?

Not for normal play. As on most skin sites, larger withdrawals or unusual activity can still lead to an identity check.

Is DatDrop available in the US or UK?

No. Both are restricted. Using a VPN to get around that breaks the terms and puts your balance at risk.

Are DatDrop cases the same as official CS2 cases?

No. They're site-made cases with contents and odds set by DatDrop, so Valve's published drop rates don't apply. Check the item list before you open one.
